Continuing from the last time, this is a stay record of the hotel “Park Hotel Alexandra” in Singapore. It is a good cost performance hotel with a pool and a machine gym that guests can use freely, but I would like to see how the guest room is.

slightly unresponsive card key
The Park Hotel Alexandra is a 19-story building, but since the lower floors are commercial buildings, the rooms are on the 8th to 19th floors. The hotel faces a busy intersection, but you don’t have to worry about the hustle and bustle of the road as it is at least on the 8th floor.
The elevator is a system that doesn’t stop at the floor unless you hit the room key. However, the sensitivity of this sensor is poor, and it often doesn’t respond well …。 and the elevator speed isn’t very fast, so I have an impression that it takes a long time to go up to the upper floor.
Also, there is a pool, gym and other restaurant on the 7th floor which I mentioned in yesterday’s article, and you will have breakfast there. By the way, a plan with breakfast costs 1,000 yen to 1,500 yen per night, so if you want to save money, you might want to go to the town’s hawkers.
entire deluxe room
Deluxe rooms are available on the 11 to 16 floors. I was shown a room on the 15th floor this time.
The room is a simple structure surrounded by wood grain walls. The size is 24 m2, which is standard, but the ceiling is high so it has a sense of openness.
It’s called “deluxe room” and it’s an ordinary double bedroom. Bed sheets were changed daily.
There are four pillows, all the same in height and material. It was too expensive for me, so I used a bath towel instead of a pillow.
Around the desk. The large vertical mirror was easy to use, but the desk was a little small and I sometimes felt inconvenient.
There is one outlet around the desk. There was another on the wall nearby and another on the telephone next to the bed.
Office chair with back made of mesh material. This is the only chair in the room. Even if there is an extra sofa, it will only make the room smaller, so this one will be enough.
The air conditioning of the room has 3 levels of air volume and fine temperature control. 15 degrees is cold, but 20 degrees is hot and humid …
Wi-Fi and a built-in smartphone
There is a smartphone at the desk. It can be connected to the internet, and guests can use this smartphone freely.
It’s a regular (real) smartphone with a camera on the back.
But I don’t know how to use it well, and it only supports English and French. In addition, it seems that you need to register your email address, so I don’t think it’s meaningful, but …。 seems like the line speed is only 3G, so you don’t have to use it forcefully.
Wifi is free. There seems to be a premium plan of $20 for 1 night, but with this free plan, I could connect to both smartphone and PC, and I didn’t feel that the speed was slow, so I don’t think I need to make it a premium at all.
minibar and storage space
There is a refrigerator beside the bed and a mini bar inside.
You need to be careful because there is a mini bar on top of the refrigerator and these two bottles of water are charged.
2 bottles of water for $10, and the “Demae Iccho” beside it for a whopping $6! Cup noodles of about 500 yen are very expensive. Also, free water (welcome drink) is placed in the sink, so I tried to drink it during my stay.
In addition, there are several storage spaces in the room. The drawer is a high-class type that closes slowly automatically when pushed.
There is also a large frontage.
The closet next to the entrance. There is also a hair dryer here.
You can use a safety box without any problem. The security code can be up to 9 digits.
Water area and shower
Next, let’s look around the water area. It is kept clean with a big mirror and a magnifying glass.
The shower booth has no bathtub. The water pressure of the shower is OK, but the temperature control is quite severe. It would be easier to use if there was a little more space for things like shampoo.
There is also a rain shower.
Also, the shower booth door opens only a little for space reasons. Isn’t it hard for a big person to go in and out?
Amenity goods are as you can see. In addition to shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body cream, you can open the wooden box and find toothbrushes and shower caps.
And the water placed here is free. This water was more delicious than the water I bought at the supermarket. You can get 2 bottles every day, but there were times when I had 3 bottles only for one day during my stay! (as it happens,)
By the way, the shower room is through the glass, but you can take down the partition. But it’s a simple one, so even if you put it down, you can see inside through the gap. I think this specification is the same even for a twin room, so you need to be careful when you stay with multiple people.
view from the window
Finally, let’s look at the view from the window. As it is on the 15th floor, you can see quite a distance, but it is not very interesting around the hotel as there are only apartments and housing complexes standing side by side. …。 I stayed in a room facing the city, so I could see the high-rise buildings of Raffles Place in the distance, but Singapore does not have landmark high-rise buildings, so it may not be interesting.
By the way, the night view is like this. I can only see the apartment. This is also a bit disappointing.
Good value hotel in Singapore
The Park Hotel Alexandra is, in short,
- 1 night 11,000 to 15,000 yen (depend on the timing of)
- Somewhere away from the MRT station (A little more than 15 minutes on foot)
- There is a bus stop right next to the hotel.
- The room has a high ceiling and is beautiful. Free Wi-Fi.
- free pool and machine gym
Other than that, I can’t deny that I can hear the sound of the room next door. Especially the sound of opening curtains and the sound of something hitting the wall are very loud. You can also hear a lot of voices in the corridors, which you won’t be able to prevent unless you stay at a very expensive hotel.
In that sense, it’s a passing mark, and from the perspective of a hotel where you can stay this cheap in Singapore where prices tend to rise, I think it’s a very cost-effective hotel. The room is clean and the ceiling is high, and I have nothing to say except that it is far from the station. I would like to be a candidate for my next stay in Singapore.
These are the records of my stay at the Park Hotel Alexandra Singapore. Please read yesterday’s article about the access to the hotel and the pool.
